Professional Translator and Interpreter
Translation:

English, French and Spanish.
I am a fast translator, of 20 years' experience, able to produce on average twenty 23-line pages a day, with accuracy, fine drafting, and excellent Spanish grammar.
I have an internationally-recognised reputation for being conscientious in rendition, and punctual with deadlines.I am a founder-member of the Peruvian Association of Professional Translators, and have twice been its president. ATPP members are the most experienced translators in Peru: all meet the high quality requirements of multinational corporations, embassies and UN system Agencies.
My work for UNICEF involved long-term translation, interpreting and editing contracts. I have translated more than 15,000 pages on a very wide range of issues, including hydroelectric projects, forestry, mining, automotive and other types of engineering, law, economics, textiles, and social sciences.My translation on Swadeshi by Mahatma Gandhi, and several of my articles have been published.
Interpreting:
In 1977 I started to work as simultaneous interpreter, and I have now interpreted at more than 300 international events.I have been interpreter to financial, governmental, business, and World Bank missions, in their contacts with Peruvian institutions. My university background in Anthropology is a significant asset, enabling me to acquaint foreign visitors with Peruvian social and business culture.
My training as Able Toastmaster enables me to accurately convey speeches or conversations, preserving the engaging - and entertaining - manner of the original.
I am therefore well-placed to act as personal guide and intermediary to commercial, political, technological and sociological professionals during their visits to Peru. In this role I can provide assistance with preliminary and concurrent research, organisation and co-ordination for projects, helping to ensure my clients' time and efforts achieve the greatest possible results.
I have had the honour to act as personal interpreter for a number of eminent clients, such as Professor Michael Porter, the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund and the Executive Director of the United Nations Environmental Programme; the 1966 Pulitzer award winner Mr. Daniel Yergin; and Professor Albert Ellis, creator of 'Rational Emotional Therapy'.
I have also worked as interpreter for TV crews from Australia, Sweden, and the USA, when producing documentaries on Peru.When discussions involve specific fields with their own unique terms, e.g. engineering of all kinds, I am thorough in my preparatory research, to establish the correct translation with regard to context. I liaise with all parties concerned to ensure an accomplished exchange of ideas.
At all times, I place great emphasis on developing a close understanding of my clients' requirements, appreciating that my role may be pivotal, not only to the success of their project, but also to their overall enjoyment of their time in my extraordinary country.
