Yolanda Sala:
Professional Translator and InterpreterTestimonials and References
Con Anemogiannis,
Film Australia (02) 467 9777.
This is to state that: several times last year, in 1988, Film Australia, the Australian Government's National Film Production House, had occasion to come to Peru to film their upcoming International Television Documentary Series, 'AND A FUTURE FOR ALL'
As Producer/Writer of this series I employed Ms Yolanda Sala Baez to act as Interpreter/Researcher and Production Co-ordinator to expedite our arrangements in their entirety. Her duties as Interpreter from English to Spanish and Spanish to English were of the highest calibre both written and oral and an invaluable help.
Other than her duties as Interpreter/Translator her skills and fluency with complex production co-ordination tasks, and her organisational abilities were, on any scale, outstanding.
I can recommend her highly for any position that suits her skills and recommend her without the slightest hesitation.
Further, should you employ Ms Sala Baez in any capacity, the intelligence charm and initiative she is capable of will be immediately apparent and you will have done yourself a great service
If at any time you feel you wish to speak with me for further information or to substantiate these claims about Ms Sala Baez in regard to her short or long term appointment, please don't hesitate to call me here in Sydney, Australia, (02) 358 2583. I will be happy to sing her praises.

'I wish to express my deepest gratitude to you for your many kindnesses to me in Lima during my visit last week. You went beyond the call of duty to ensure that I understood a little more about your rich historical country and its people. The visit to the anthropological museum on Sunday 10th December, which was completely outside your schedule of work, was very much appreciated. The rich exhibition in the museum and your knowledgeable explanations gave me a wonderful insight into the heritage of Peru.'

Representative, UNICEF
To Whom it may concern:
Ms. Yolanda Sala hns worked as translator and interpreter from English into Spanish and vice versa for the (United Nations Children's Fund - UNICEF in various occasions since 1989.
As of July this year, Ms. Sala has worked on a longer-term assignment, translating, editing and proof-reading the English and Spanish versions of the 1992-1997 UNICEF-Peru Master Plan of Operations and more recently, the 1993-1997 UNICEF-Paraguay Master Plan of Operations.
Ms. Sala has shown responsibility and efficiency. Her performance has indeed been of great assistance for this office, particularly taking into account the tight schedule and deadlines that had to be met. Besides, Yolanda has taken the initiative and actually promoted the weekly Toast Master's workshop in our office.
Therefore, I am truly pleased to recommend Ms. Sala for any future position concerning her professional standards.

Dear Mrs. Sala,
It is a pleasure for me to confirm that you acted as a simultaneous interpreter during our 28th Annual Conference in Lima, Peru between Thursday 10th November and Friday 1lth November.
The Sessions of the Conference were commercial and scientific and the Conference was simultaneously interpreted into English and Spanish.
The standard of simultaneous interpretation was amongst the highest we have experienced.
Thank you for your considerable help in this matter.

Re: Simultaneous Interpretation by Yolanda Sala and Miriam Ramos, Petro Peru Refinery, February 21 to March 1, 1994
These two interpreters provided simultaneous interpretation for me for a very technical course on the monitoring of engines, compressors, and rotating equipment. The vocabulary is in many cases unique to the subject, and it can be difficult even when the course conductor and participants are each using their own language.
Yolanda and Miriam both did an excellent job. Everyone who participated was delighted with the course, and a large part of the credit for that is due to the interpretation. Both interpreters were well prepared, even to the extent of going over the whole course ahead of time. They did not, however, pretend to a knowledge they did not have, and in some cases confirmed the translation of certain terms with engineers knowledgeable in the subject. Therefore, I could be confident that the terms being used were accurate.
There was no hesitation in the interpretation whatsoever, which was important because much of the course consists of discussion of diagrams shown on the board. If the interpretation had been late, it would have been very difficult for the participants to understand the diagrams.
Yolanda and Miriam also provided the service of translating participants' questions into English, so that I could understand them and therefore provide a better course. Here again, the translation was excellent, with no hesitation, and the service added significantly to the quality of the course.
Last but not least, the two were unfailingly cheerful, pleasant and helpful. Their presence made the experience much more enjoyable than it would otherwise have been.
I have no hesitation in recommending both of these interpreters for any position in which they feel capable. I cannot think of anything interpreters could have done which would have made an improvement.
